My collage art is a mixture of Pop Art, Synthetic Cubism, and Surrealism. Influences include Stuart Davis, Paul Klee, Max Ernst, to name a few. Imaginary, bold environments are created using vintage paper (50+ year-old magazines, sheet music, comic books, and assorted ephemera), as well as book jackets, yardsticks, and cigar boxes, adhered to wood panel or acid-free paper substrates. Blemishes, stains, wear, hand-written signatures and scribbles are left in place to remind the viewer of the materials’ past life.
